Birding in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
With over 350 bird species living in Bwindi forest, the park is undoubtedly an ideal birding destination. 23 species are endemic to the Albertine Rift. There are several trails with in the park which birders/tourists follow as they look for the birds. Some of the trails include the main trail, the Buhoma Waterfall Trail and along the bamboo zone and Mubwindi Swamp trail in Ruhija.
Look out for birds like the Short-tailed Warbler and Blue-headed Sunbird as well as seven IUCN red data listed species. Easy to see are the African Emerald Cuckoo, Common Bulbul, African Blue and White-tailed Blue Flycatchers and Red-headed Bluebill.
