In an area famous for lion prides and elephant herds, Camp Linyanti is the kind of glamping we approve of: a basic tent setup with a comfortable bed, en suite bathroom and air conditioning. In an area as wild as this it's good to 'camp' indoors with some creature comforts.
Camp Linyanti offers you the real-deal safari experience on the edge of the Linyanti floodplain, but with a clean modern look that'll leave you saying "oh yeah, I could stay here."
Since this is one of the only sources of water in the dry months, fed by the Chobe and Kwando Rivers, it is also one of the most popular and prime wildlife destinations of northern Botswana. Best to remember this when booking for the whole...
Best to remember this when booking for the whole family.
With five Meru-styled safari tents, the camp is intimate and quiet even when fully booked. The raised tents come with double or single beds, a private balcony, an en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower and electricity. If you want to witness the incredible African sunset, make sure to have drinks around the boma, it's a chance for you to not only appreciate the view but also meet others in camp for shared stories.
Drinks are available at the bar, so order a nice cold G&T and work on your safari tan at the pool. Keep an eye out for all the birds moving around camp, this is one activity you can do with a full glass and you won't even have to move.
Breakfast is not the only thing that is included, which bring us to the activities. Firstly game drives and night drives, Linyanti is known for the abundance of wildlife that roam the area, so you will definitely see more than a solitary buck and a bush or two. If the water levels allow it, boating and fishing are also offered. The activities are no adrenaline-rush (unless we talk lions), but they will allow you to take in all of the vast and dense landscapes and impressive game viewing. For those who wish to get a bit closer to nature, guided walks with some very chatty guides are also an option.
It's not that hard to pick a good safari experience like Camp Linyanti; land and water views, amazing food and chilled drinks, space to relax (everywhere) and of course, the animals... what else could you want?
Facilities
5 tents with en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers; solar power heating and hot water; air conditioning; mosquito nets; boma and dining area; pool and bar.
Activities
Game drives and nights drives are on the table. A chance to see lions, elephants, wild dogs and leopards to name a few. These are just some of the big shots.
If the water levels allow it (seasonal), fishing and boating can also be arranged as well as a guided hike to learn more about the land and water areas that surround you.
