Short Description
First up is Etosha National Park, seemingly dry and dusty but bursting with life in all shapes and sizes. We will enjoy this gem of a park for 4 days. Next up is the Caprivi Strip of the northeast of the country, a wetland and river wonderland, where we will explore the lesser known Bwabwata National Park.Our second last stop is magical Chobe National Park in Botswana, famous for its huge African Elephant population. Our last destination is Victoria Falls on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Day By Day Details

Day 1: Windhoek - Etohsa National Park
Your guide will meet up with you at your Windhoek accommodation or the arrivals hall of the airport and load your luggage into the vehicle. We will set off northwards towards our exciting first destination of this safari; Etosha National Park!
We will settle in at our comfortable lodge, have dinner and enjoy our first taste of Namibian cuisine, and then have a good night’s rest; there is much excitement to come!

Day 2: Etosha National Park
We will explore the southwestern side of world famous Etosha park today, going for a morning drive after breakfast and returning to our lodge for lunch and a break in the heat of the day.
We will return to the lodge after our afternoon game drive to enjoy dinner. Remember to look up before settling into your bed tonight – the African night sky, undisturbed by city lights out here in the bush, is truly amazing.

Day 3: Etosha to Eastern Etosha
We have another full day to enjoy Etosha today, but we will also slowly make our way to the eastern side of the park, where we will overnight today. We will stop at Halali camp in the middle of the park for lunch.

Your guide will decide, with your input as to your fauna and flora sighting preferences, what the best routes will be to follow. All our guides know Etosha intimately and will make sure you see all that this great African wildlife park has to offer.

Tonight we will be at another comfortable lodge just outside the park’s Von Lindequist gate in the east, where we will sit around a fire after dinner, chat about the day’s sightings and enjoy another spectacular African night sky.

Day 4: Full Day Etosha East Game Drive
We will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Etosha’s game-rich eastern section today, returning to our lodge in the heat of the day for lunch and to relax.
One of the great features of the camps inside Etosha is the floodlit waterholes at the perimeter fence, where guests can sit and enjoy game coming to drink only a few metres away; a special treat that to remember forever!
After another fantastic day in the park, we will return to our lodge and freshen up. We will then enjoy dinner and a good night’s rest. Tomorrow we are off to the Caprivi!

Day 5: Etosha to Caprivi Game Park
We will leave Etosha relatively early this morning after breakfast, making our way northeast. Prepare for a bit of a long but astonishing drive to Caprivi Game Park.

Day 6: Bwabwata and Mahango NP game Drives
After breakfast this morning we will do a mixture of game drives in Bwabwata and Mahango National Parks. We will enjoy lunch at the lodge and either enjoy some downtime or head back into the Park.

Late afternoon we will join the lodge for a dinner cruise on the Okavango River. We will depart at 17h30 and after cruising for a short while we will stop on an island and enjoy sundowner drinks and snacks around a bonfire. Our view of the Bwabwata National Park on the opposite bank of the river will be the perfect vantage point from where we can watch wildlife drinking while we enjoy the beautiful sunset with a drink in hand. After enjoying our drink we will board our boat again and slowly cruise back to the lodge while we enjoy our dinner on the Okavango River. A truly magical experience!

Day 7: Boat Cruise
We start the morning with a breakfast cruise after which we proceed further east along the Caprivi Strip.

After a drive of about 3 hours we will reach our next lodge and have lunch. It is situated on the banks of the beautiful Kwando river.
In the afternoon we have the option to explore this section of the Bwabwata National Park, or maybe even venture into Mudumu National Park, with a mixture of game drives and boat cruises. We will see elephants, and plenty of them!

We will return to the beautiful lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest. Tomorrow we cross the border into Botswana!

Day 8: Namibia - Botswana Chobe River
After breakfast this morning you will be transferred to Kasane, driving through Katima Mulilo. You will cross into Botswana at the Ngoma gate, which must surely be one of the most scenic border posts anywhere, as it overlooks the breathtakingly beautiful Chobe river floodplain.

The last 60 km of your journey will be in Chobe National Park. After settling in at your lodge in Kasane you will enjoy a sundowner drink while revelling in the great view over the Chobe river. Dinner will be enjoyed at the lodge where you will be briefed about your upcoming adventure tomorrow.



Day 9: Full Day Chobe National Park
This whole day will be dedicated to exploring Chobe National Park. You will do a game drive and a boat cruise, and the time of the year will determine which one you do first. After astonishing activities at Chobe, you will again stay in the same lodge overlooking the Chobe River and enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 10: Chobe - Vic Falls
After breakfast and a final activity you will cross into Zimbabwe, the third and final country on this fantastic safari.
It is a short drive of about 80 km from Kasane to Victoria Falls, and remember to keep an eye out for wildlife as this road is famous for some incredible roadside sightings.
After arriving in the town of Victoria Falls you have the option of going straight to the falls, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “The Smoke that Thunders” (the falls visit is an optional extra). It is the largest waterfall in the world by volume, A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. However, no amount of cold facts can prepare you for the sight of the unfathomably vast and powerful falls. It truly is majestic, and a must-see for adventure and wildlife travellers from all over the globe.
After settling into your lodge, you will have the afternoon open for relaxing, shopping at one of the curio markets, or any of the following additional (optional) activities:
• Helicopter flights over the falls and surrounding area (highly recommended)
• Bungee jumping
• Sundowner boat cruise on the Zambezi river
• Half-day birding trip around town and the falls
Dinner tonight is for your own account, but we can gladly assist in suggesting one of the many excellent hotel restaurants in town.



Day 11: Transfer to Airport
After a relaxing final breakfast you will be transferred to the nearby Victoria Falls International Airport for your homeward flight, or for your connecting flight to another southern African safari destination.

Etosha Safari Lodge Day 1 - 2

Mahangu Safari Lodge Day 5 - 6

The Mahangu Safari Lodge lies 22 kilometers south of the town Divundu, at the western bank of the Okavango river, en route to the Mahango National Park.

The lodge is a convenient stop-over for travellers to and from Botswana (Okavango delta), the Caprivi strip as well as the Victoria Falls.
The Lodge comprises of 13 Bungalows, 6 Safari Tents and 3 guide bungalows with shared facilities. All units are airconditioned and have 220V electricity 24/h.

Activities include spectacular bird and game viewing by boat, excellent Tiger and Bream fishing. A good self drive activity is to visit the Popa Falls which are a 20 min drive from the Lodge.


Namushasha River Lodge Day 7

Chobe Bakwena Lodge Day 8 - 9

Chobe Bakwena Lodge sits right on the edge of the Chobe River just before it joins the Zambezi en route to Victoria Falls; where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet; where mighty game reserves surround you; where untouched African bush disappears into yet another sensational sunset.

With just 15 chalets, 10 of which have river views the remainder raised on stilts surrounded by the thick riverine woodland, Bakwena offers an intimate and personal safari lodge experience and excellent value.

The large chalets, built of local sand, wood and thatching, are slightly elevated with private balconies secluded by the trees. The huge en suite bathrooms have solar-fired geysers and an extra outdoor shower. The tree houses are built entirely of wood and canvas with thatched roofs and shrouded by the tree canopy for an exciting bush experience.

The main lodge features a large elevated deck at the water’s edge where drinks, meals and lazy days all blend into one. For hotter times, the pool and cool interior of the high thatched roof will be most welcome.

Chobe Bakwena Lodge has an enviable location and we’re not just talking about the magnificent river frontage. Victoria Falls is about an hour’s drive and an easy day-trip away; Chobe National Park is about 20 minutes and the lodge offers guided safaris daily. A river safari on Chobe is equal parts scenic, relaxing, game viewing and bird watching bonanza. And for something different you can take a cycle or walk to the village nearby or try your hand at landing a tiger fish or any of his friends.
