David Livingstone, the first European to discover Victoria Falls described it as the most wonderful sight he had witnessed in Africa. That was in 1855 and it’s still impressive.
If you think you can see a lodge, you’re right. The Club is in the grounds of the award winning Victoria Falls Safari Lodge. Rooms in the main lodge are closer to the waterhole but here there’s more privacy. And you can still see the wild. In fact, it’s not unusual to watch elephant, impala and hyena head to the lake as you tuck into your dinner. Let them be your dining companions.
By the way, you can use the facilities at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, but the agreement doesn’t work the other way, helping to make this a peaceful haven.
Facilities
There are 16 rooms and 4 more spacious suites. They have three quarter length twin beds which can be converted to king size.
All rooms face out towards the bushveld, with sliding glass doors. These open onto a private balcony which is a happy, sunset facing one. There’s air conditioning, a ceiling fan and mosquito nets. They’ve really gone to town with the civilised freebies. Firstly, there’s a complimentary minibar which is restocked daily with local beer, house wine, soft drinks and bottled water. And if that wasn’t enough there’s a tea and coffee making station, including - wait for it - a Nespresso machine. Yes.
The club also provides their own toiletries, hairdryer and a digital safe large enough to hold a laptop.
But the absolute best extra has to be the ‘pillow menu’. It gives you the choice of different pillows?! Who knew such wonders existed?

Activities
Seeing as you’re by the falls this will be the centre of your activities world. The Club host what they call a “12 noon vulture experienceâ€, a Boma drum show and can arrange a falls walk led by a local Zulu guide.
You can also go on a helicopter ride over the rapids. And seeing as this is Africa's adrenalin sports capital you may as well go for it. You can even bungee on down. There are lots of adventure activity companies in town, with lots of options. A gentler option is a tethered helium balloon which promises to 'float over the Falls' (not strictly accurate, since it's located some distance away, but it's a quiet ride and good for gentle contemplation).
Victoria Falls town itself is good for textiles, crafts and Shona sculpture. There are also lots of shops and galleries to explore.
If you want safari, there’s a wide variety of larger mammals within the Zambezi National Park including elephant, lion, buffalo and leopard. There are also herds of sable antelope, eland, zebra, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck and impala as well as many of the smaller species of game.
Finally, if fishing’s your thing, the Zambezi River is home to over is 75 species and is famous for its bream and tiger fish.
