Just 200km from Victoria Falls, Sable Sands is a rustic gem located on the outskirts of the Hwange National Park, along the famous Dete Vlei. The Vlei is an old river bed that is home to many mammal and bird species making it a safari haven. The lodge consists of 16 “rondavels”, which are African style huts dotted about the teak forest, 5 of these face the waterhole where wildlife frequently stop over for a drink throughout the day as they wander the forests and grasslands. Sable Sands is a 'Safari Home with the Earth, People, Conservation & Wildlife @ Heart’, as such the lodge supports various environmental protection, community development and wildlife conservation initiatives.
