Accommodation is in large wood-and-glass structures built from local timber by local hands. Floor to ceiling glass sliding doors open on to a private deck at the water’s edge peeking through a dense riparian tree canopy. The en suite bathrooms offer private views of the river and trees and the furnishings and decor stop at nothing right up to and including your choice of pillow type.
Riverdance Lodge is at the western edge of the Caprivi, about 170km from Rundu and a short drive from Popa Falls and Mahango Game Reserve. Its location opens up the Caprivi as a genuine alternative safari destination to the pricey and oft-booked out Delta further to the southeast.
7 chalets all with wonderful, private river frontage; luxury en suite bathrooms with free-standing bath and separate shower; extra-length beds; private deck; swimming pool; dining area; lounge and river deck. Good news for you self-drive campers: RiverDance Lodge has a wonderful grassed campsite beneath the trees with private ablutions and a river deck; you can even order pizza from the lodge if you’re tired of beans from the tin.
