Rwenzori Mountains are a range of highlands in eastern equatorial Africa, at the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The highest peak, Margherita on Mount Stanley reaches 5,109 metres, making it Africa’s third highest mountain. The range's upper regions are permanently snow-capped and glaciated.
The range is about 120 kilometers long and 65 kilometres wide and consists of six massifs separated by deep gorges: Mount Stanley (5,109 metres), Mount Speke, Mount Baker (4,843 metres) Mount Emin (4,798 metres), Mount Gessi (4,715 metres) and Mount Luigi di Savoia (4,627 metres).
