The Sesriem campsite is located close to the southern end of the quiet and lush Naukluft Mountains, within the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
Sesriem is well-known for Sesriem Canyon, which is the second most important tourist attraction in the area after Sossusvlei. This beautiful canyon has been carved out by the Tsauchab river and is a breathtaking tourist attraction. The Canyon is only two metres wide at certain points, and one water-filled portion attracts plenty of local wildlife.
As one of Africa’s largest parks, Namib-Naukluft is one for the bucket list. The famous red dunes at Sossusvlei are a sight to behold and a photographer’s dream, in particular the towering Dune 45. Also worth exploring is Deadvlei, a white clay pan populated with dead acacia trees which add to its stark and haunting beauty.
