There are 20 rooms and suites, all shaded by huge trees with views down the valley. All the rooms are air conditioned and have their own entrances and verandahs. Each has a private bathroom. The Garden and Hillside suites also have outside showers. Fridges, hair dryers, ceiling fans and beds with 100% cotton Percale sheets.
Garden and Hillside Suites have hammocks or daybeds on their verandas. And these are spacious beauties so you won’t feel squashed.
The smallest rooms are called Combretum and Kapok. They have a queen size bed and a small veranda. The bathrooms have showers.
There are 4 brand new larger rooms, billed as the superior ones. They’re called Frangipani, Kiaat, Marula and Matumi. You’ll have a choice of a super king size bed or two queen size beds. Big bathrooms with large double showers. Wide verandas with a daybed looking over the valley.
Salina, Euphorbia and Camelfoot are also large rooms. These are in the former tobacco barn, a thatched place next to the main house. They each have a small veranda. Baobab, Mahogany and Kigella are big too, they can accommodate up to three people. These have great, long views. And a queen-size bed plus a single. They also have a Victorian bath in the bedroom. Not impressed? How about the fact that the shower looks straight down the valley... Oh yes.
Fancy a garden suite? Ok, Sycamore or Ivory your cup of tea? These are very big, with large verandas, long views. Super king size beds and Ivory has an extra single too. Victorian baths in the bathroom and walled off showers outside.
Acacia, Coral, Ebony and Teak are the thatched garden suites. They’re surrounded by trees and shrubs and tucked away near the donga. That’s the dry riverbed. These have high ceilings, Victorian baths and lots of outside space. Acacia & Coral have a super king sized bed and a single bed. Ebony and Teak have two queen sized beds. These rooms are suitable for 2, 3 or 4 people. Acacia is also suitable for wheelchair access.
Or is it the hillside for you? Well, these suites are Pumalanga and Shonalanga. Each suite has two bedrooms with Victorian baths and an outside shower. Both suites have a sitting room, a large stoep, sun terrace, minibars, tea and coffee facilities, and a television with DSTV satellite channels. The two suites also share a private swimming pool and the best views on the property. Pumalanga and Shonalanga are good for families or for two couples travelling together. Each suite can accommodate two to five people.
