Trees are a feature of this well-established garden the likes of which, along with its prime vantage point, make Klein Windhoek the poshest neighbourhood in town.
The 18 rooms vary from standard to luxury with one family room and a honeymoon suite. The emphasis here is light. Large windows and glass doors throughout the property invite Namibia's generous natural light dappled by acacias, palms and delicious monsters. Room styles vary but all are spacious and decorated with simple pale print wallpaper, some carpeted and others with wood floors. Quality fabrics and linens in light neutral tones give a crisp finish and contrast to dark furniture. Each room has an en suite bathroom, air conditioning, wifi, mini bar, tea and coffee station, hair dryer, safe, satellite TV and international adaptors.
Owned and managed by the dynamic Davin family, there's plenty to do at Belvedere Boutique Hotel be it a game of floodlit tennis or honing your putting on the practice green. The guesthouse also has a Jacuzzi and a full-featured spa. Of course it's not all fun and games: the Davins have a famously well-stocked wine cellar for the business-end of your overnight stay in Windhoek.
Belvedere is more of an upmarket guesthouse than a boutique hotel given its suburban location and breakfast-only option. But make no mistake: it is a lovely place to stay and Windhoek has several excellent restaurants a short taxi-ride away. Personal attention and a warm welcome by the Davins and their happy staff provide that special something to make Belvedere Boutique Hotel a memorable stay. Combine this with a quiet location, comfortable rooms and an elegant setting and you have all the ingredients you need for perfect start or end of your Namibian holiday.
