The Naukluft Camp is located in the Naukluft section of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, which was originally created to serve as a sanctuary for Hartmannâ€™s mountain zebras, which are endemic to Namibia. Naukluftâ€™s steep cliffs attract various cliff-breeding bird species, including Black eagles, and a variety of wildlife.

This section of the park is also home to five different vegetation communities. With its massive and varied rock formations, Naukluft is a geological paradise, the only place in the world where a solo dolomite also known as a Gritty Dolomite can be found.
